Simple: Etsy's transaction fees don't apply.

While Pattern does have a flat rate monthly fee (as well as the standard payment processing fee), it can begin to pay for itself with the money that would have otherwise gone to Etsy's transaction fees.

My goal has been to avoid raising prices to make up for Etsy's fee hike, and I think Pattern may be the solution. From now on, new items will be listed on Pattern first. Items that don't sell on Pattern in a timely manner will be cross-listed on Etsy (and the prices will be raised accordingly).

However, the reason Etsy's transaction fees don't apply is that Etsy doesn't drive any traffic to Pattern websites. Thus, the success of this site depends on you, my Instagram customers. I'm launching this site so that you guys can still get good deals on vintage, and I hope you will take advantage of this and use this site when you want to shop my items!

I'm definitely not the first vintage seller to try out Pattern. Another seller who has recently launched a Pattern website is Love Charles Vintage. I hope you will check out her site as well and shop through it when you can! (If you're a seller and have a Pattern site, feel free to comment the link and I will add your site to this post).

Thanks for reading! Leave a comment if you have any feedback on the site or have any questions about using Pattern!
