Miss Dorothy Vintage is filled with vintage garments I hand select for their quality and fashion relevancy! Here you will find items from the 1900s-1990s because gems can be found in every decade! I do have a special fondness for the Edwardian era, mid-century fashion, and the cool clothes my mom and her friends wore when I was growing up in the 90s (mom jeans, anyone?), so the shop is always stocked with items from these eras. Mixing decades is my favorite, along with styling statement vintage pieces with modern basics. I love pairing 90s crop tops with 1950s full skirts or ripped denim with Edwardian lace blouses!
Why Miss Dorothy?
My introduction to vintage fashion came when I peeked into my grandma's closet and discovered her exquisite lace wedding dress from 1955. Because I was so enamored with it, she let me take it home with me. Before long, a collection of other vintage joined the wedding dress, and by high school my vintage stash had overflowed to the point where I started selling on Etsy.
After college, I returned to selling vintage because I missed sharing my finds with others (and because I desperately needed to downsize my collection). What started as a hobby has evolved into my dream job!
Although my grandma's wedding dress still hangs in my closet, she herself passed away in 2012. After her death, I wanted to honor her memory in some way. As my vintage fashion inspiration, it seemed only fitting that my shop should bear her name. ❤️
